So, axe-throwing while drinking beer is a thing. And this month, Fort Worth welcomes two more places where folks can do that: Stumpy's Hatchet House, which opened Friday at 824 W. Daggett Ave. on Fort Worth's Near Southside, and closer to TCU, Splinter's Axes & Ales.
The husband-and-wife team of Brian and Jonette Phegley opened Splinter's on Oct. 16 inside a former warehouse in the District 90 development at Eighth Avenue and Berry Street near TCU and the Near Southside.
“We loved the axe-throwing experience, but wanted to offer a more comfortable and inviting atmosphere — complete with sofas, a beautiful bar, and plenty of space,” Brian Phegley says.
Stumpy's is in the heart of a rapidly redeveloping piece of the Near Southside.
Splinter’s is at 1813 W. Bowie St., inside the emerging District 90, the redevelopment of four former industrial buildings designed for new businesses such as restaurants and bars, health and fitness studios, creative office, and service and experiential retail.
