The "Creators Wanted Live" mobile unit offers an escape room-style experience educating participants about careers in manufacturing.
A rolling, interactive exhibit is making a stop in Fort Worth in hopes of spurring locals to pursue careers in an industry with an urgent need for workers.
The "Creators Wanted Live" tour will park at the South Campus of Tarrant County College from Tuesday through Friday, bringing a 53-foot mobile unit meant to educate participants about modern manufacturing. The exhibit functions similarly to an escape room, challenging teammates to solve riddles, crack codes, and beat the clock while also learning about manufacturing's impact.
Additionally, the tour will feature opportunities to meet industry professionals, view technology demonstrations, and gain information on training programs and other resources.
Organized by the National Association of Manufacturers and the Manufacturing Institute, the tour also has local support from the Fort Worth Independent School District and Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Texas Association of Business, Stanley Black and Decker, Cornerstone Building Brands, CRH, and Corning.
The tour comes as the manufacturing industry continues to struggle amid the nationwide labor shortage. According to a report by Deloitte and the Manufacturing Institute, the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in a loss of 1.4 million U.S. jobs; and while the industry has recouped about 63% of those positions, manufacturers surveyed are now reporting that finding the right talent is 36% harder than it was in 2018.
The report projects 2.1 million unfilled jobs in the U.S. by 2030.
The "Creators Wanted Live" tour, however, is looking to turn the tide. RSVP and find more information here.
