The DEC Network will host the eighth annual Dallas Startup Week Aug. 7-11 with virtual and in-person attendance options at the SMU Cox School of Business, organizers announced this week.
The DEC Network is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit driving innovation and economic impact by helping entrepreneurs start, build and grow their businesses.
Dallas Startup Week’s title sponsor is Capital One. DSW enjoys a reputation as the largest event that drives entrepreneurial success, economic impact, and innovation in Dallas-Fort Worth.
“We believe the intersection of business, education and the startup community in Dallas is integral in bringing together innovative leaders from various sectors, thus enabling a powerful partnership to support the growth and success of the startup community,” says SMU Cox Managing Director of Corporate Engagement & Strategic Partnerships Lisa Tran in a statement. “We are proud to play a key role in this effort, and we look forward to bringing the Dallas startup community together on The Hilltop for another successful Dallas Startup Week.”
The Cox School hosted a hybrid DSW in August at the Collins Executive Education Center.
Dallas Startup Week will feature notable speakers and content for aspiring entrepreneurs, startups, established small businesses, and corporate allies.
Dallas Startup Week’s sessions fall into nearly two dozen tracks, including AR/VR, Blockchain, Capital & Funding, Gaming & Esports, Healthcare, Retail, Software as a Service, Social Impact, and Venture.
DSW also offers three summits:
1. Disrupt Dallas celebrates the champions that are disrupting the entrepreneurial ecosystem and talent pipeline, as well as providing expert education and programming for entrepreneurs of color to help support and grow their business through a combination of speakers, discussions and networking opportunities. Disrupt Dallas will take place in person at SMU.
2. Women of Innovation is a daylong slate of seminars and speakers to recognize, encourage and advance women leaders who have the courage and passion to transform their ideas and ambitions into a reality. Featuring a dynamic group of leading visionaries, Women of Innovation will celebrate, inspire and connect change-makers across markets and industries to provide all women in business with greater insights and knowledge into the trends and possibilities of the future. Women of Innovation will be held in person at SMU and online.
3. Corporate Startup Innovation leverages and unites the breadth and diversity of DFW’s corporations and dynamic startup ecosystem. The summit will mobilize these groups by featuring DFW’s best and brightest innovators who will share how their companies are shaping our future – resulting in new ideas, business models, investment trends, connections and opportunities for business growth and acceleration.
DSW will also include the Official Launch Party at Startup Alley, where local small business owners can showcase their businesses in an expo hall format. Information on how business owners can apply for a spot at Startup Alley will be made available closer to the event.
