Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) announced that Danny Maldonado has been appointed president and CEO of Fort Worth-based Bell, effective Jan. 4.
Maldonado, Bell’s chief commercial officer, will succeed Lisa Atherton, who has been named president and CEO of Textron Inc.
“Danny is a proven leader with a long track record of success at Bell,” Textron Chairman and CEO Scott Donnelly said in a statement. “He will lead Bell at an important time as we accelerate activity on the MV-75 program and continue to invest in leading commercial helicopter programs.”
Bell announced last year that it would base its MV-75 program in Fort Worth with a new factory in AllianceTexas, a $632 million investment.
As CCO, Maldonado oversees Bell’s global commercial aircraft sales, aftermarket solutions, the Bell Training Academy, and new product development.
His career with Textron began in 1990, during which he has held leadership roles in sales, business development, customer support, and finance. Prior to his current position, he served as president and CEO of Textron Financial Corp. for nine years and previously as Bell’s executive vice president of sales and marketing.
