The EECU Community Foundation has committed $50,000 to The Pat Green Foundation to support flood recovery efforts in Central Texas.
EECU President and CEO Lonnie Nicholson, who also serves on the foundation’s board, announced the gift live on KSCS/96.3 FM Friday morning.
“Our hearts go out to the families and communities affected by these devastating floods,” Nicholson said. “The loss has been unimaginable, and we want those impacted to know they’re not alone.”
The EECU Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, focuses on the education, health, and well-being of Texans. Nicholson emphasized the organization’s commitment to helping neighbors in need. “Supporting our neighbors isn’t just something we do — it’s part of who we are.”
The donation also honors country artist and Texas native Pat Green, whose family was personally affected by the flooding. Green quickly mobilized a benefit concert this week in Arlington and other relief efforts through his foundation.
“Pat Green is not only a friend to so many of us, but someone who truly embodies the spirit of Texas,” Nicholson said. “His leadership and compassion have inspired us, and we’re proud to stand with him — and every Texan working to rebuild and recover.”
