Officials of Fort Worth-based Elevate Credit, Inc., a leading tech-enabled provider of innovative and responsible online credit solutions for nonprime consumers, on Thursday said that it again had earned recognition as a Best Place for Working Parents® for a third consecutive year.
ACH Family Services, American Airlines, Byrne Construction Services, Cantey Hanger, city of Fort Worth, DFW airport, Haynes and Boone, Gus Bates/HUB International, Higginbotham, JPS Health Network, One Safe Place, Satori Capital, Schaefer Advertising Co., TCU, and Trinity Real Estate Investment Services were among the other locals recognized.
The Best Place for Working Parents designation uses an online business self-assessment to identify organizations around the country that are innovating policies that support working parents. Each question in the self-assessment ties to policies that positively impact employee attraction, retention, satisfaction and productivity. The assessment highlights only the family-friendly policies that also have research-proven benefits to businesses’ bottom line.
“Elevate is continuously working to ensure our benefits are market competitive and support the well-being of our employees,” says Sharon Clarey, Elevate’s chief human resources officer, in a statement. “New this year, we are proud to offer an inclusive fertility and family-forming benefit that covers all paths to parenthood. Offering benefits that support our growing, diverse workforce is an important part of our values.”
Elevate’s family-friendly benefits and programs include 12 weeks of paid parental leave for primary caregivers plus two additional weeks of PTO once primary caregivers return to work.
Nonprimary caregivers receive four weeks of paid parental leave. Elevate also offers flexible work hours, generous PTO, and healthcare benefits and flexible spending accounts (FSA) for employees and their dependents.
It’s all relevant considering that more than 15 million U.S. workers since April 2021. A recent survey by McKinsey showed that 45% of workers said taking care of family was a key factor in their exodus.
“Working parents, and specifically working women, are leaving the workforce at an astounding rate to care for their families, but this is more than a women's issue, it is an economic issue,” says Sadie Funk, director of The Best Place for Working Parents. “It's a critically important time for companies to step up in ways that both empower their employees to be successful and allow their workplaces to thrive.”
To that end, the Fort Worth-based organization last month hosted the inaugural The Best Place for Working Parents National Summit at Hotel Drover. Company officials from American Airlines, Fossil, Hilti, Match, PMB, Yum! Brands, J.P Morgan Chase, among others, addressed the convention. The convention was designed to be an open forum for business leaders to learn about and share research and family friendly policies that are conceived to attract and retain talent, as well as the positive impact on profitability.
The keynote was delivered by Dana Suskind of the University of Chicago, author of Parent Nation.
