Fort Worth-based accounting firm Mesch, PLLC announced elevations to name partner for two key leadership team members: Tax Manager Cyrus Wagner III and Audit Manager David Molenda.
The two will join Managing Partner Derick Mesch and Partner and Founder Fred Mesch in sharing leadership duties and strategic guidance roles for the firm.
Founded in 1981, Mesch provides private individuals, entrepreneurs and growing companies with advisory business and wealth management services, tax services, transaction support, and assurance and audit capabilities.
“At Mesch, we have the bandwidth and capabilities to provide a national firm level of service and support,” said Derick Mesch in a statement. “But we’re also committed to deep partner involvement with each client.
“These promotions are entirely merit based. Cyrus and David earned them. But having such great team members ready to become partners is also a testament to our firm and to our capabilities. We’re proud to be able to provide large accounting firm service without large accounting firm bureaucracy, right here in Fort Worth.”
Wagner and Molenda are licensed CPAs and members of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
Wagner joined Mesch seven years ago as tax manager. Previously, he served as tax manager at BDO USA, LLP. Wagner earned BBA and MS degrees in accounting from Texas Tech University.
“As soon as I started working at Mesch, I knew this is where I wanted to become partner,” Wagner said. “There’s a great dynamic here. We're an independent firm without a lot of meaningless internal red tape, so our people are able to do a fantastic job for our clients and still maintain a healthy work-life balance. We have a very low turnover rate — which is also great for our clients because they get experience and consistency on their accounts. Now that I’m part of leadership, I’m looking forward to helping Derick grow and develop those teams even further.”
Molenda recently celebrated 25 years with the firm, having joined the audit department in 1999. Molenda, who has a BBA in accounting from the UT Arlington, is a member of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants.
“I caught the accounting bug in college, and 25 years later, I still love what I do,” Molenda said. “I love working with all the different clients and industries we see here in North Texas, and I love working on audits. It’s a little like detective work. We get to be investigators who ask a lot of questions and document everything and hand over an opinion with our signature at the end. It’s a unique department here at Mesch, and I can’t wait to build it out even further.”
