Thirty Fort Worth-area companies found a place on the prestigious Inc. 5000 list as the fastest-growing private companies in America.
These independent and entrepreneurial businesses found distinction by managing woes, those caused by the pandemic, rising prices, and the supply chain.
Leading the pack was Bodybar Pilates’ franchise locations in Tanglewood and West Seventh Street under the leadership of Matt McCollum. His company can be found ranked No. 276 overall with a three-year percentage revenue growth of 1,532%.
Bodybar was the eighth-fastest growing company in DFW over a three-year period.
At 810 is TimelyCare, becoming a perennial player on this list. The health services company was the 22nd fastest-growing private company in DFW. TimelyCare is a virtual health and well-being provider in higher education.
"To make the top 20% of Inc. 5000 list — and to be among the fastest-growing private companies — for a third year running is an incredible achievement and honor," said Luke Hejl, CEO and co-founder of TimelyCare, in a statement. "Mental health challenges continue to plague campuses nationwide and we are resolved to change that. This recognition inspires us to continue pushing boundaries and innovating in digital health."
The Inc. 5000 are ranked according to percentage revenue growth from 2020-23. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2020. They must be U.S.-based, privately held, for-profit, and independent — not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies — as of Dec. 31, 2023. Some on the list may have gone public or been acquired since then.
The minimum revenue required for 2020 is $100,000. The minimum for 2023 is $2 million.
Fast-rising Varghese Summersett, a full-services law firm based in Fort Worth, was No. 38 nationwide in the legal profession with revenue growth of 247%. Overall, it was No. 2,126.
“We went from hanging a shingle in 2014 to becoming one of the largest and fastest growing criminal defense, personal injury and family law practices in North Texas, with multiple office locations,” said Benson Varghese, founder and managing partner of the firm. “Each member of our firm was hand-selected for their expertise, dedication and compassion. We are proud to be the law firm Texans turn to during their most challenging times.”
KeyCity Capital of Southlake and Whitlock Building Services of Grapevine were next on the list at 1,343 and 1,477. Fort Worth-based Valor, with a three-year growth rate of 321%, came in at 1,618.
“I'm immensely proud of our team's hard work and their unwavering commitment to providing innovative solutions for our clients and community,” said Joseph DeWoody, CEO and co-founder of Valor. “We look forward to many more years of growth and success.”
The Inc. 5000 class of 2024 represents companies that have driven rapid revenue growth while navigating inflationary pressure, the rising costs of capital, and seemingly intractable hiring challenges. This year's Inc. 5000 companies have added 874,458 jobs to the economy over the past three years.
"One of the greatest joys of my job is going through the Inc. 5000 list," said Mike Hofman, Inc. editor-in-chief. "To see all of the intriguing and surprising ways that companies are transforming sectors, from healthcare and AI to apparel and pet food, is fascinating for me as a journalist and storyteller. Congratulations to this year's honorees, as well, for growing their businesses fast despite the economic disruption we all faced over the past three years, from supply chain woes to inflation to changes in the workforce.”
