Novaria Group, a Fort Worth-based manufacturer of specialty hardware, components and coatings for the aerospace and defense industries, has acquired Hohman Plating.
Hohman Plating is an industry leader in the finishing and coatings business, serving the worldwide aerospace and defense market. This acquisition marks the fifth transaction in the past 12 months as Novaria continues to grow its family of aerospace and defense capabilities.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Hohman will continue to be based in Dayton, Ohio.
“We are thrilled to have Hohman as a valued resource and partner as we continue to expand our operations,” Novaria CEO Bryan Perkins said in a statement. “The impressive approvals in metal finishing and proprietary coating options Hohman provides are unmatched in the industry and are fundamental to the customers we serve.”
Hohman Plating was established in 1918. The company provides metal finishing and coating services to a broad base of industries, including aerospace, medical, defense, electronics and others. It is recognized as one of the top shops of metal finishing in North America and worldwide.
Hohman owner Bill Miller, who has been with the company for more than 50 years, will be joining Novaria’s board of directors.
“Our strength in the markets we serve, and the family nature of our business, makes us a perfect fit for the Novaria business model,” Miller said. “Hohman Plating is one of the best finishing operations in the industry. This partnership is the right strategic step in continuing the growth of both operations.”
“Hohman Plating’s capabilities further enhance our position in the aerospace and defense market,” Novaria CFO Justin Tucker said. “We look forward to reinforcing our strength as a valued partner that provides quality services and a diverse set of products to our customers.”
