TimelyMD will soon need a bigger trophy case. MedTech Breakthrough is the latest to bestow a high honor on the Fort Worth company.
The independent market intelligence organization, which recognizes the top companies, technologies, and products in the global health and medical technology market, has named TimelyMD the “Best Overall Mobile Health Solution” in the sixth annual MedTech Breakthrough Awards program.
TimelyMD serves as a 24/7 virtual extension of campus health and counseling center resources, with a goal of improving student well-being, engagement, and retention. Through the TimelyCare platform on their phone or other device, nearly 1 million students have access to a wide-ranging menu of virtual mental health and medical care options from licensed physicians and counselors in all 50 states — at no cost and without the hassle of traditional insurance.
“We are proud to accept this MedTech Breakthrough recognition as it validates our innovator role at the intersection of higher education, healthcare, and technology. Through TimelyCare, we are proud to deliver best-in-class virtual care to help students thrive,” says Luke Hejl, CEO and co-founder of TimelyMD, in a statement. “Meeting the need for equitable, on-demand access to care is a critical challenge that extends beyond campus boundaries. We are grateful to the colleges and universities that trust us to provide complete clinical care, advanced technology, and expert guidance to improve their students’ physical and mental health.”
TimelyMD partners with 200 campuses across the country, including Duke University, Emory University, Georgetown University, Northwestern University, University of Notre Dame, University of Chicago, University of Virginia, Wake Forest University and Washington University in St. Louis. It also serves more than half a million community college students, with system agreements in California, Connecticut and Virginia.
The mission of the MedTech Breakthrough Awards is to honor excellence and recognize the innovation, hard work and success in a range of health and medical technology categories. This year’s program attracted more than 3,900 nominations from more than 15 different countries throughout the world.
“Our nation’s economic future and global competitiveness are directly linked to the health and well-being of college students today, and TimelyMD is delivering a ‘breakthrough’ platform to improve the health and wellness of these students,” says James Johnson, managing director, MedTech Breakthrough. “TimelyMD’s virtual health and well-being platform provides anytime access to support, breaks through COVID-19 isolation, and reduces the stigma of seeking care.”
The MedTech award is the latest in a series of recent recognitions for TimelyMD. D CEO magazine recently honored the company for outstanding achievement in innovation as well as innovation in health care. In March, Inc. Magazine ranked TimelyMD as the seventh-fastest growing private company in the southwest and first among those in Dallas-Fort Worth.
