Fort Worth Chamber
Beautiful May weather last Wednesday greeted 112 volunteers who visited about 600 businesses as part of the Fort Worth Chamber’s second Small Business Walk.
What a difference a week makes. Hello, Summer. We weren't expecting you quite so soon.
Each business received a goodie bag from their visitors. Volunteers gathered at Casa Manana to begin the day and stock up on goodie bags.
The walks, which coincide with Small Business Week, are designed to foster communication between the Chamber and small businesses. The walk was hosted in partnership with the city of Fort Worth’s Economic Development department.
Last year, something constructive came out of the effort.
Through a survey, the Chamber learned that 65% of businesses said homeless concerns were a priority. In response, the Chamber formed a task force and designed a toolkit in collaboration with the city, local business owners, Fort Worth police, nonprofits, and community partners.
The toolkit includes best practices for business officials to manage homeless-related challenges; guidance on working with law enforcement and city services; tips for fostering positive community engagement; and legal considerations for business owners.
See you next year during Small Business Week.
