There's an adage floating around the internet that instructs that when you don't succeed, try, try again.
And persistence will eventually pay off for the venerable Paul Harral, our old chum who announced that he is retiring from his position as an editor with the Fort Worth Business Press.
"This is my third attempt at retirement," he writes in the Business Press.
After graduating from Baylor in 1967, Harral began a newsman odyssey that had him working in television stations newspapers as a reporter in Waco; to United Press International in Dallas, Denver, and Chicago; and on to Florida for jobs with a newspaper and magazine, among others. He moved the family to Fort Worth in 1986 for assignment with the Star-Telegram, where he took on a number of roles, including editorial page director, for the next 23 years.
Harral retired from the Star-Telegram and a second time after a stint with us at Fort Worth Magazine.
À tout à l’heure!
Well, we'll see you later somewhere along the way.
Because the third time is always the charm.
Job well done, good sir.
