Cortney Gumbleton
Fort Worth entrepreneur Cortney Gumbleton is taking to a figurative bullhorn to inspire what she believes is a sea of would-be women entrepreneurs.
This week, Gumbleton launched “The FoundHers Club,” a podcast in which she shares through interviews the incredible stories of the unapologetically ambitious women founders who are re-defining entrepreneurship.
From overcoming adversity to exploring lessons learned in failure, she will present the stories of innovative women who are disrupting their industries, building movements, or creating positive social change across Texas, according to a statement announcing the venture.
An increasing number of women are starting businesses across Texas. With her podcasts, Gumbleton showcases Texas CreateHers, BuildHers, DisruptHers, Risk-TakHers, InventHers, and InvestHers who are successfully trailblazing new paths. Gumbleton negotiated a media partnership with Victoria Wise and Madeworthy Magazine, which regularly will showcase her podcast’s founders in written articles.
Gumbleton was founder, co-owner, and managing partner of Locavore, an event center and commercial kitchens rental business. Before that, she was executive director of The Jordan Elizabeth Harris Foundation, where she implemented Hope Squad, Texas’ first peer-to-peer suicide prevention program for youth. Additionally, she created the Hope Initiative, which trained thousands of community members with the tools to save a life.
Earlier this month, Gumbleton joined TechFW as assistant director.
The first five FoundHers podcast guests are Megahn Forest Farmer from The Bright Factory, muralist Katie Murray, Taco Head's Sarah Castillo, Eosera's Elyse Dickerson, and BrooHa Market's ChoKe.
Gumbleton says: “The FoundHers Club is a community where genuine stories of female entrepreneurship are shared, real connections are made for greater impact, and together our voices are lifted.”

After having raised more than $60,000 with a Kickstarter campaign, Farmer shares the story behind her vision for The Bright Factory, a garment factory giving previously incarcerated women a second chance and a bright future. Meghan discusses her experiences working in-house for a luxury fashion company and candidly talks about the seedy underbelly within the industry that inspired her new social enterprise. The podcast is not all business. Cortney and Megahn also chat about her love for karaoke dance parties, her husband's motorcycle, and how she can't stand cats.
Gumbleton outlined her “reality” that is the guide for The FoundHers podcasts:
