Nick Booras
Fuzzy’s Taco Shop announced on Wednesday that Nick Booras would be joining the company as senior vice president of franchise sales. The Irving-based restaurant group was founded in Fort Worth 2003 and now has almost 150 franchise- and corporate-owned locations in 17 states.
Booras most recently served as senior director of franchise development at Atlanta-based FOCUS Brands, LLC., where he was responsible for selling all seven of the FOCUS Brands in the southwest region. Before that, his role was dedicated to one brand in the FOCUS portfolio, McAlister’s Deli, where he sold over 250 units as director of franchise development.
Previously, Booras was responsible for franchise sales at Corner Bakery Cafe and Boston Pizza.
“Nick’s expansive network and ability to connect brands with qualified franchisees is critical to our success as we work to achieve our aggressive growth goals over the next five years,” says Fuzzy’s CEO Paul Damico, the former president of FOCUS brands, in a statement.
Booras’ hiring dovetails with NRD Capital’s acquisition of Fuzzy’s as the anchor of its newly formed platform Experiential Brands, which plans to buy other experiential brands in the food and beverage space. Damico was tapped to lead the company as CEO, in addition to his role as CEO of Fuzzy’s.
Damico said at the time that he planned double the size of Fuzzy's over the next five years.
Booras says in a news release that he believes Fuzzy’s “is poised for explosive growth,” projecting rapid growth in Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Missouri.
