Fort Worth-based merger and acquisition firm Kasper & Associates has facilitated the sale of Dallas-based Innovative Packaging Group to investor and entrepreneur Matt Schmidt.
Formed in 2006 by Bill Martin and Bob Moses through the merger of two long-standing packaging distributors — Ira Blackburn & Associates and Fasco Packaging — IPG provides a wide range of retail packaging products, including bags, boxes, gift wrap, ribbons, foodservice packaging, and shipping supplies. The company also offers full-service design capabilities, in-house printing, stamping, and warehousing programs for clients such as retailers, restaurants, foodservice distributors, sports teams, and hospitality venues nationwide.
Schmidt, who brings experience in business ownership and private equity, plans to pursue growth opportunities that will expand the company’s capabilities and scope of operation, according to a press release.
Martin and Moses will remain with the company for an extended period to ensure a smooth transition, and all IPG employees will continue under the new ownership.
Martin and Moses retained Kasper & Associates Managing Partner Layne Kasper as their exclusive agent to initiate, structure, and negotiate the terms of the transaction, which included a long-term facility lease.
“Bob and Bill have made significant investments in positioning IPG to continue as a market leader well into the future,” Kasper said. “Their investments will pave the way for Matt to be successful in achieving his growth plans.”
