Lauren Deen
Streams & Valleys, the nonprofit organization devoted to protecting, enhancing, and celebrating the Trinity River and its extensive trail system, has announced the appointment of Lauren Deen as its new executive director.
A Fort Worth native with more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising and community engagement, Deen brings a robust background in mission-driven leadership across the education, conservation, and public health sectors.
Deen assumed her role in August. Deen succeeds Stacey Pierce, who moved into the role of vice president investor relations at the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce.
“The Trinity River is one of Fort Worth’s greatest treasures,” said Deen in a press release. “I look forward to working alongside city leaders, partners, and community members to enhance and protect this vital resource for generations to come.”
Deen previously held leadership roles with Friends of the Katy Trail in Dallas, where she served as both membership and marketing director and later director of operations. In that role, she oversaw trail operations, the annual fundraising campaign, membership engagement, and the Katy 5K — the group’s premier fundraising event. She also fostered key partnerships with businesses and the city of Dallas to support long-term access and sustainability.
Most recently, she served as managing director of development at the Tarrant To and Through Partnership (T3) and as chief advancement officer for Texas Center for Arts + Academics. In both roles, she led strategic partnerships and fundraising efforts to support youth development across Tarrant County.
Founded in 1969, Streams & Valleys has played a central role in shaping the future of the Trinity River in Fort Worth through its advocacy, fundraising, and community engagement efforts. The organization remains a driving force in ensuring that the river is preserved, celebrated, and accessible to all.
