Fort Worth's new mayor, Mattie Parker, and four new City Council members will be sworn in during a special called council meeting, 7 p.m. Tuesday in Ballroom B at the Fort Worth Convention Center, 1201 Houston St.
The City Council will vote to canvass the results of the June 5 election, and Mayor Betsy Price will present certificates of election. Parker and newly-elected officials will give remarks after being sworn in:
- Mayor, Mattie Parker
- District 6, Jared Williams
- District 7, Leonard Firestone
- District 8, Chris Nettles
- District 9, Elizabeth Beck
Council members Carlos Flores, Michael Crain, Cary Moon, and Gyna Bivens were sworn into office May 11.
The meeting is open to the public. The city will carry the event live on FWTV, its Facebook page, and web site.
Doors to the ballroom open at 6:30 p.m. Paid parking is available in the Convention Center Parking Garage. Street parking is free after 6 p.m.
