Eating out. What is not to like? Other than the bill, of course. Rising prices have hit restaurants and their patrons particularly hard.
Well, it turns out, according to one study, that Fort Worth is the best place to eat out if you're watching your bottom line.
According to a recent study released by The Cookie Rookie, Fort Worth is the most affordable city to eat out. The study broke down culinary preferences for all 50 states and took into account things like each city's favorite meals, state dishes, and much more. Inside the study was a section asking which cities in the U.S. have the most affordable dining, and there it was, the name of our favorite city.
The results revealed that it cost $60 on average for two people to get a three-course meal at any of the city’s mid-range restaurants. For an average meal at a mid-range restaurant, a party of two can get their grub on without fear of having to wash dishes to pay their bill.
Close on our heels is El Paso, which came in at around $62 for a party of two to enjoy the same selection of food. Memphis was No. 3 at $65. Sharing the No. 4 slot were Detroit and Columbus, Ohio, at $70 per couple.

Among those ranked at the lowest spot for this section of the study were Dallas, Houston, Denver, and Oklahoma City, to name a few. Although Dallas and Houston were ranked at the No. 10 spot, Texas in general stands as the top state for budget-friendly dining.
The Cookie Rookie used data from social media and Google to find its final rankings.
Diversity of cultures and cuisine made differences. For instance, did you know that enchiladas are the third-most popular state food in the nation? This dish actually made Texas’ favorite dish, with a Google search of more than 480,000. Coming in at No. 1 for this category were bagels, which amassed 11 million searches alone last year, according to data.
The study also revealed Texans love our pizza, but who doesn't? Most of the nation does, according to the data. In the category of each state’s favorite meal, 44 states were said to prefer pizza. The other six states, which included New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Rhode Island, all preferred chili instead.
