TimelyMD, the leading virtual health and well-being solution for college and university students, is the seventh-fastest growing private company in the southwest U.S. and first among those in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, according to rankings compiled by Inc. magazine.
TimelyMD debuted at No. 7 on this year’s Inc. 5000 Regionals 2022 Southwest list, a ranking of businesses with exceptional growth in Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas, based on a two-year revenue growth rate of 1,474%.
This was the first year of eligibility for the Fort Worth-based company, which was founded in 2017 as the first telehealth company exclusively focused on higher education. TimelyMD serves nearly one million college students across the country by providing complete clinical care, best-in-class technology, and expert guidance to improve their physical and mental health. Its TimelyCare platform is a 24/7 virtual extension of campus health and counseling center resources, with a goal of improving student well-being, engagement and retention.
“TimelyMD’s mission to improve the health and well-being of college students through virtual medical and mental health care has never been more important,” says Luke Hejl, CEO and co-founder of TimelyMD, in a statement. “This incredible recognition would not be possible without our passionate, innovative and collaborative team, or the college and university leaders who trust us to help students be well and thrive.”
Between 2018-20, 141 private companies on the Inc. 5000 Regionals Southwest list had an average growth rate of 154% and, in 2020 alone, added 10,563 jobs and nearly $10.9 billion to the region’s economy. Companies based in the Austin, Scottsdale, Arizona, and Fort Worth areas had the highest growth rate overall.
While the Covid-19 pandemic fueled TimelyMD’s exceptional growth, demand for virtual care remains high among college students and administrators. Nine out of 10 students say campuses face a full-blown mental health crisis, according to TimelyMD, and 75% of college presidents say they plan to make greater investments in student mental health, according to Inside Higher Ed.
Currently, TimelyMD partners with nearly 200 campuses across the country, including Duke University, Emory University, Georgetown University, University of Notre Dame, University of Virginia, Wake Forest University, and Washington University in St. Louis. It also serves more than half a million community college students, with system agreements in California, Connecticut and Virginia.
