Trinity Habitat for Humanity has purchased land in Forest Hill where it will develop a new neighborhood with 114 mixed-income homeownership opportunities.
The initiative marks the start of a partnership with the city of Forest Hill to expand attainable homeownership for essential workers and hardworking families.
“As the city of Forest Hill works to address affordable housing in our community, we look forward to collaborating with Habitat for Humanity,” said Venus Wehle, Forest Hill city manager, in a statement. “This partnership, as with our other local developers, will address the critical need to bring more housing units into our city and help build on our economic development initiatives. We’re excited that new residents will be looking at the Trinity Habitat development and making Forest Hill their new home.”
Forest Hill is a city of more than 14,000 residents, with Interstate 20 dissecting the 4.2-square-mile city in half. The city is home to more than 300 businesses, according to officials.
"Creating a thriving, mixed-income neighborhood requires collaboration. Trinity Habitat for Humanity is proud to partner with the city of Forest Hill on this transformative project,” said Christine Panagopoulos, Trinity Habitat COO. “Together, we’re not just building homes — we’re fueling economic growth.”
