Garrett Merket
Valor, a Fort Worth-based provider of oil and gas asset management and back-office solutions, has appointed Garrett Merket as its new senior landman/sales representative. A Midland native, Merket brings more than a decade of experience in land management, regulatory affairs, and energy policy.
“His broad experience across land, regulatory, and policy roles in the oil and gas industry will bring valuable perspective to our group,” said Jason Beck, director of mineral management at Valor, in a press release. “His skill set and professionalism will strengthen our ability to deliver strategic, client-focused solutions.”
Before joining Valor, Merket served as a landman at Iron Horse Royalties, overseeing ownership analysis for leases, deeds, and title opinions. He also held government affairs roles at APA Corporation and on Capitol Hill, where he served as deputy chief of staff for U.S. Rep. August Pfluger of Texas’ District 11, helping shape energy legislation for the Permian Basin. His early career included positions with the Texas Railroad Commission and Concho Resources.
Merket holds an MBA from Texas Tech University and a BA from Texas State University.
