D.G. Yuengling & Son - “America’s Oldest Brewery” - and its Texas brewing partner Molson Coors Beverage Co. said Tuesday that Yuengling beers will be available across Texas beginning Aug. 23.
Yuengling, founded 192 years ago in Pennsylvania and still owned by Yuengling family members, will launch in the state with its Yuengling Traditional Lager, Light Lager 99, Golden Pilsner, and Flight by Yuengling, the Next Generation of Light Beer. In the DFW area, Andrews Distributing will sell the beer to retailers, restaurants, and bars.
As part of the launch, Yuengling will hold a “SuperFan Sweepstakes,” under which winners will get the opportunity to attend a Yuengling First Taste Party. Yuengling also will award additional winners the chance to get one of the first cases of Yuengling in their area.
“The official countdown is on for Yuengling fans in the Lone Star state who are anxiously waiting to enjoy our family of great beers,” Wendy Yuengling, chief administrative officer of D.G. Yuengling & Son, Inc. and sixth-generation family member, said.
“We are proud to announce that we are finally bringing the goods to Texas at the end of August. We have worked tirelessly to ensure our family’s recipes and tradition of brewing excellence for the past 192 years will be matched as we brew Yuengling locally in Ft. Worth for the great state of Texas.”
Yuengling announced last year that it entered a partnership with Molson Coors on its Texas launch. Molson Coors’ Fort Worth plant will make Yuengling’s beers for distribution in the state. The Fort Worth-based office of the partnership – The Yuengling Co. LLC - will be responsible for rolling Yuengling out in Texas and further west. Yuengling is available in 22 mostly Eastern states; Louisiana is closest to Texas.
Earlier this spring, Yuengling staged a public relations event during which it brought the "secret recipe" to its beers and proprietary yeast into Fort Worth aboard an armored car.
“It’s exciting to finally see the first state-wide launch of our joint venture come to fruition,” Gavin Hattersley, president and CEO of Molson Coors Beverage Co, said in a release. “Over the next few months, our skilled team at the Molson Coors Fort Worth brewery will work hand-in-hand with the Yuengling family to bring Texans the rich tradition and quality that America’s Oldest Brewery is known for.”
