The Greater Fort Worth Association of Realtors is holding a four-part online workshop series in October for first-time homebuyers.
The series is free and will be streamed via Zoom every Tuesday in October at noon. To register, click here.
The sessions will be hosted by GFWAR Realtor members and affiliate members. Each session will last 30 minutes, with Q&A time. Each session will be recorded and available on the GFWAR web site and You Tube channel.
Sessions:
- Where to Start, Oct. 5. Three Realtors will give advice on “how to dive into house hunting with confidence.” Topics covered include the buyers rep agreement and commission, explanation of the Multiple Listing Service, upfront costs, and what to expect in a low-inventory market.
- Getting Your “Bucks” In a Row, Oct. 22. Lenders from mortgage companies take you through the nuts and bolts of the financial side of buying a home. Topics covered will include the different loan types available, getting pre-approval, monthly payment, and mortgage goals, appraisals and tax rates.
- Protecting Your Investment, Oct. 19. Experts explain the home inspection process and cover the ins and outs of the home warranty. Topics covered will include asking for repairs or concessions, CLUE reports, shopping for insurance, and benefits of home warranties.
- Closing Time, Oct. 26. Title company representatives will take you through the closing process. Topics covered include HOAs, zoning and deed restrictions, closing disclosure, title company’s role, and the handing over of the keys.
