Rollin’ n Bowlin’ – the ready-to-blend frozen smoothie brand founded by two TCU students – announced it would begin selling to grocers in the South, Southwest, and Midwest U.S. regions via a new partnership with a national food and beverage firm.
Rollin’ n Bowlin’ said it has teamed up with Green Spoon Sales, based in Boulder, Colo., which will begin pitching Rollin’n’ Bowlin’s ready-to-blend smoothie pouches this month to independent and traditional grocery stores. The company earlier this year announced a distribution deal with KeHE food distributors.
Rollin’ n’ Bowlin’ founders Austin Patry and Sophia Karbowski started the company in 2017 as a caterer out of a food trailer, with an eye toward a national franchise model for healthy food cafes on college campuses. Their fresh, 18-ounce thick fruit smoothies are topped with fruit and granola and rich with superfoods and acai, known for antioxidants. During the pandemic, the two shifted strategy and added ready-to-blend pouches, which include açaí, pitaya and fresh nut butter options and can be converted to acai bowls, depending on how much liquid of choice is added.
“Our goal was to get them into as many homes as possible,” Karbowski said. Joining Green Spoon and its roster of emerging packaged products, “we have the support we need to continue our brand mission of spreading healthy vibes.” The goal now: national distribution.
Kari Pedriana, CEO and co-founder of Green Spoon, said the partnership “encompasses everything we stand for as leaders in the natural food and beverage industry. Rollin’ n Bowlin’ prioritizes similar standards, values and beliefs in a true all-team approach.”
The pouches are available on Rollin’ n Bowlin’s website, Amazon.com and in over 185 U.S. grocery retailers across the United States found through its online locator. Customers can also buy the pouches and the brand’s fresh-made products at Rollin’ n’ Bowlin’ storefronts at the TCU, Loyola University of Chicago, Tulane University and University of Denver campuses.
“We are very excited to start working with Green Spoon Sales and to expand our footprint in regions critical to our growth as we aim for national coverage,” Patry said. “As our sales agency and partner, Green Spoon Sales will be instrumental in helping sell our products, while forming new relationships and maintaining current ones with our network of amazing retailers and distributors.”
