Jonathan Berry
Argent Trust Company, a leading client asset services firm, on Tuesday announced the retirement of Kathy Christoffel, Fort Worth market president, effective at the end of the month.
The firm has appointed Jonathan Berry as her successor.
Christoffel’s retirement marks the culmination of a 33-year career, during which “she significantly contributed to the growth and success of Argent Trust in the Fort Worth region.”
Christoffel has overseen Argent Trust’s Fort Worth wealth management team, leading business development, and providing customized client solutions, since 2019.
"I’m incredibly proud that during my time at Argent we focused not only on serving our clients but also on giving back to the community, building a strong and knowledgeable team, and having fun along the way,” said Christoffel in a statement. “It’s been an honor to work with such talented individuals who care deeply about what they do.”
Berry will step into the role from his current position of senior vice President in the Fort Worth office.
He brings more than 14 years of experience in the financial industry. Before joining Argent, he served as an attorney and counselor at law at Jonathan D. Berry, PLLC, and owned Covenant Insurance Solutions, where he worked as an insurance and financial adviser.
Berry earned a bachelor’s in psychology, with a business minor, and a Juris Doctorate from Texas A&M University.
"I’m humbled to take the reins from someone with such a successful career and history in the industry as Kathy,” Berry said. “She has set an incredible standard for leadership and client service. Fort Worth is a special business community and being a part of Argent’s continued growth here is an honor.”
Prior to joining Argent, Christoffel was a senior vice president and fiduciary officer at Wells Fargo. Christoffel is a Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA) and has earned certifications from Morton College and the Cannon Trust School. She has been actively involved with the American Bankers Association, the Tarrant County Probate Bar, and the Institute of Certified Bankers.
In the community, Christoffel serves on the board of Amphibian Productions and is a certified guardian with the National Guardianship Association. She is a former board member and president of Guardianship Services, a former board member of CASA and Child Advocates, and a founding member of the Stephen Seleny Society of Planned Giving at Trinity Valley School.
“As I step into retirement, I’m confident in Argent’s next chapter, with Jonathan leading the way,” Christoffel said. “He will continue to treat each client and partner with the same integrity and care that Argent is known for, and I look forward to seeing the Fort Worth office thrive under his leadership."
