A Fort Worth attorney is poised to become managing partner of a national law firm based in Chicago.
S. Jan Hueber, who received her law degree from Texas Tech University, has been appointed managing parter of Litchfield Cavo, effective today, Jan. 1.
John J. Jarosak, Hueber’s predecessor, will return to full-time practice at the firm, according to a press release. His practice will focus on professional malpractice clients, construction liability matters and products liability cases.
Hueber is only the third managing partner in the firm’s 25-year history and first woman to hold the position at Litchfield Cavo. She will oversee operational leadership across the firm’s 23 nationwide offices.
She will split time between Fort Worth and Chicago, the firm said.
"Our firm's executive committee made a superb choice in appointing Jan as my successor,” Jarosak said in a statement. “She has a wealth of experience not only as an excellent litigator but as a manager. I am certain that she is going to make a number of important contributions to Litchfield Cavo during her tenure as managing partner."
Hueber, who has been practicing law for more than 36 years, joined Litchfield Cavo as a partner in September 2017. Based in the firm's Fort Worth-Dallas office, she has represented a diverse range of clients in various aspects of commercial and corporate litigation. Her areas of focus include construction liability, general commercial liability, medical professional liability and products liability.
In addition to her Juris Doctor, Hueber earned a bachelor’s from Angelo State in San Angelo.
"Jan has impressed me from the day she joined us. She has a grace and wit about her that makes her a strong leader and people person,” said Daniel G. Litchfield, the firm’s co-founder and chair of the executive committee. “She is the ideal person to lead us into our second 25 years as a law firm. With Jan Hueber at the helm, our firm is in extraordinarily capable hands.”
Said Hueber: “John consistently delivered outstanding results and has been an exceptional mentor. His vision for the firm's future was both inspiring and achievable, and I’m excited to carry this vision forward as we move into the years ahead."
