Chris Evert
Tennis legend Chris Evert will be the keynote speaker at the Executive Women’s Day luncheon in May at Colonial Country Club, organizers announced on Thursday afternoon.
The 18-time majors winner and tennis hall of famer will be following in a line of distinguished speakers that includes Cynt Marshall, CEO of the Dallas Mavericks, and golf luminary Annika Sorenstam, who addressed the attendees a year ago.
This year’s luncheon is May 21 during the week of the 78th Charles Schwab Challenge, the PGA Tour event conducted annually at Colonial.
Executive Women’s Day is a forum that brings together hundreds of local business leaders and innovators for corporate dialogue, networking, idea sharing and development.
In 2023, the organization’s “Help A Sister Up” campaign, in conjunction with a newly-formed partnership with Fort Worth Colonial Charities Inc., raised $75,000 for The Boys & Girls Clubs of Tarrant County ($40,000) and The Women’s Center of Tarrant County ($35,000).
Executive Women’s Day and Fort Worth Colonial Charities Inc. are in the midst of a three-year commitment to support these two charities. Donations to The Boys & Girls Clubs of Tarrant County and The Women’s Center of Tarrant County will exceed $500,000 in charitable impact over the three years, according to a press release.
“After seeing how the donations impacted these charities last year, EWD made it a priority to continue the financial support,” said Julie Butner, chair of Executive Women’s Day, in a statement. “It is an excellent example of empowering women to use their wealth and power to uplift other women and girls in our local community.”
Gold sponsorships are available for Executive Women’s Day, which includes one table for eight at the event, valet parking passes on EWD day, and a number of added value premiums. Go here for additional details.
“The alliance with Executive Women’s Day provided the perfect opportunity for Fort Worth Colonial Charities to expand our outreach of providing financial support to local nonprofit organizations like The Boys & Girls Clubs of Tarrant County and The Women’s Center of Tarrant County that positively impact the lives of many,” said Rob Hood, president of Fort Worth Colonial Charities. “This is a special program and we are honored to be a part of it.”
To kick-off the 2024 “Help A Sister Up” campaign, Executive Women’s Day has introduced Uncorked for Charity Women’s Golf Invitational to be conducted March 20 at the Perot family’s Circle T Ranch in Westlake.
The golf and networking event offers playing spots ($150 each) on the Gil Hanse-designed nine-hole par-3 course and a short game clinic ($100 each), along with a reception with drinks and hors d’oeuvres following.
