Hillwood last week announced it had come to an agreement on a lease renewal with Cummins Clean Fuel Technologies, which plans to expand its alternative fuel technology footprint in AllianceTexas and the North Texas region.
Cummins-branded natural gas fuel delivery systems are manufactured at its facility in AllianceTexas for the North American commercial vehicle market.
Cummins is expanding its operations to include an additional 50% of manufacturing space and will now occupy nearly 160,000 square feet in AllianceTexas’ Gateway 57 building at 1051 Republic Drive in Roanoke, according to a press release.
“We are proud to be a leader in renewable natural gas in the commercial vehicle industry and continue to support the intermediate and long-term growth potential of RNG vehicles due to the environmental and economic benefits, imminent regulatory requirements and corporate ESG goals,” said Cummins General Manager Mike Zimmerman in a statement. “With our newly expanded space, we are better able to meet the growing demand for natural gas fuel systems as well as innovate and bring new products to market to support a wide variety of customers.”
When powered by renewable natural gas (RNG), using methane collected from organic waste as the primary fuel source, engines can be credited with a neutral to negative carbon index, resulting in net greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions at or below zero.
