Mayor Betsy Price, who’s stepping down from Fort Worth’s top office this spring after 10 years in the post and helped lead the city through the COVID-19 pandemic, is Fort Worth Inc.’s first Person of the Year.
Twelve Fort Worth community members scored a list of prospective honorees selected by the magazine’s staff from our 2021 “400 of the Most Influential People in Fort Worth,” to be published in June, and added their own ideas. The criteria: a lifetime of accomplishment, particularly in the last year, and for the good of Fort Worth and the region. The magazine’s ownership and staff had the last word, but we approved the judges’ overall scoring winner. Price is the first Person of the Year to be named by the magazine.
“Mayor Price epitomizes the criteria for this award by putting service over self,” Hal Brown, the magazine’s owner and publisher, said. “All Fort Worthians have benefited from her decade of hard work and seemingly untiring dedication and commitment as Fort Worth’s Mayor. She has made Fort Worth a better place to live and work.”
Fort Worth Inc. will honor Price, 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. June 3 at the Fort Worth Club, during a reception for The 400. Tickets to the reception, are for sale at $50 per person. Please click here to purchase.
