The Real Estate Council of Greater Fort Worth recently welcomed new leadership to its board of directors, including Joel Heydenburk, who will succeed former Fort Worth Mayor Kenneth Barr as chair.
“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to serve this important organization and work with the many community leaders that make up the Real Estate Council of Greater Fort Worth,” says Heydenburk, who earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration before attaining an MBA and law degree from Texas Tech University.
The Real Estate Council of Greater Fort Worth is a regional association for the commercial real estate profession.
“The Real Estate Council has been a leader in advancing commercial real estate interests and the community at large for years, and I look forward to working with the association to continue its mission.”
Heydenburk is a partner with Jackson Walker, where he focuses on real estate transactions and operations related to commercial real estate. He regularly represents landlords and tenants in preparing and negotiating commercial lease agreements in Texas and other states. He also represents buyers and sellers in acquiring and selling commercial properties ranging from $100,000 and exceeding $600 million, and represents commercial real estate owners in telecommunications matters.
“This organization remains one of the most important civic organizations in the region, and Joel has been an outstanding member of the board for years and will serve our community well in his new role,” says Barr.
Rick Jenkins, market president of Encore Bank, takes on the task of treasurer. Before beginning his 20-plus-year banking career, Jenkins was involved in commercial real estate as a leasing and sales agent and worked for a local development firm. Jenkins has a BBA in real estate and finance from UT Arlington.
The council also will welcome two new members — Sarah LanCarte of LanCarte Commercial Real Estate and Rachel Navejar Phillips of the Rios Group — and three new cx-officio members to the board — Andy Taft of Downtown Fort Worth, Inc., Mike Brennan of Near Southside, Inc., and Stacy Marshall of Southeast Fort Worth, Inc.
