Fort Worth, TX (September 27, 2023) - Earlier this year, the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce (FWC) made a strategic move that promises to reshape and strengthen the economic landscape of Fort Worth and its neighboring regions. The Executive Board of the FWC formed the Fort Worth Economic Development Partnership (FWEDP), a dynamic entity dedicated to leading business attraction efforts. This visionary step allows the FWC to sharpen its focus on existing businesses and memberships, fostering a thriving ecosystem of growth and collaboration.
Steve Montgomery, President & CEO of the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, offered insights into this pivotal shift, stating, "This new alignment comes at the perfect time for our growing community and provides the FWC the opportunity to deliver value to our members and stakeholders through leadership, engagement, and fierce advocacy.”
The establishment of the Fort Worth Economic Development Partnership (FWEDP) represents a profound turning point in the city's economic strategy. This dedicated entity is laser-focused on driving business attraction efforts, proactively seeking new businesses and investments to Fort Worth and its surroundings. The FWEDP guides incoming companies through every phase of their journey, from initial inquiries to project completion. In addition, the FWEDP plays a pivotal role in marketing Fort Worth as an irresistible business destination, showcasing the city's strengths and boundless opportunities.
"Fort Worth presents an unprecedented opportunity to attract a diverse range of businesses and high-paying jobs,” said Robert Allen, CEO of the FWEDP. “As we move forward, in collaboration with the Fort Worth Chamber, we have an opportunity to usher in a new era of economic growth and development in Fort Worth.”
This strategic partnership allows the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce to refine its mission. By entrusting business attraction efforts to the FWEDP, the FWC can now channel its resources and energies exclusively toward existing businesses and memberships. This pivot enables the FWC to foster stronger relationships within the business community; inspire and connect local businesses and professionals through networking events, educational programs, and resources; and advocate for policies that create a conducive business environment in Fort Worth. Moreover, it enables the chamber to be a driving force behind business retention and expansion, workforce development, and support for the city's established enterprises — all critical functions for a thriving community.
In this collaborative endeavor, both organizations are also pooling their resources and expertise in shared services such as business intelligence, communications, marketing, events, finance, IT, and HR. This collective approach is aimed at propelling Fort Worth toward a brighter and more prosperous future.
As we look ahead, there is an undeniable sense of optimism — a shared vision of a Fort Worth that continues to evolve, prosper, and thrive. The partnership between the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce and the Fort Worth Economic Development Partnership exemplifies the power of collaboration, ensuring that our community remains at the forefront of economic growth and innovation. Together, we are building a brighter and more prosperous future for all.
