Fort Worth entrepreneur Jamey Ice is choosing now to launch a new marketing business, 6th Ave Storytelling.
“It may seem odd, even risky, to launch a company during a global pandemic, but we’ve seen a problem and want to help solve it,” Ice said in a statement. “People are struggling, money is tight, and small businesses need help telling the world they’re still here, open, and ready to meet their customers’ needs.”
The firm’s launch specials include discounted pricing on photography, graphic design, social media management, strategy counseling, recession guidance, and custom packages.
6th Ave Storytelling has worked with clients such as Bird Café, Craftwork Coffee Co., Istanbul Grill, Eno’s Pizza Tavern, and the Sid Richardson Museum. It’s also used its storytelling approach to market Ice’s own brands that he owns in partnerships with co-founders, including BREWED restaurants; The 4 Eleven event venue; 6th Ave Homes real estate firm; and Green River Ordinance band. 6th Ave Storytelling also has helped The Net, a Fort Worth nonprofit run by Ice’s wife, Melissa Ice.
Ice and Jimmy Williams, his co-founder and partner in 6th Ave Homes, say they became frustrated with the traditional ad agency model and services when they started the real estate firm in 2014, offering brokerage, design and renovation.
“My generation is so jaded by ads, that as soon we see one pop up, we immediately scroll past,” Ice said. “At the same time, when a business tries to use social media as advertising, just selling what they do, we immediately tune out; but when a brand tells a compelling story, we follow along and support what they do.”
