J.T. Aughinbaugh
There is local news in banking that happens to coincide well with something about a big game tonight.
JPMorgan Private Bank on Monday announced J.T. Aughinbaugh has been promoted to Market Manager for JPMorgan Private Bank in Tarrant County, according to a press release.
Based in Fort Worth, Aughinbaugh will partner closely with Kyle Hitchcock, who was named head of investments and advice for the office in August.
Aughinbaugh and Hitchcock oversee $24 billion in total client positions and lead more than 57 bankers, investment specialists, trust and estate attorneys, wealth advisers, lending advisers, and client service professionals.
“J.T. has been a leader both in the office and in the community, including his work with his alma mater Texas Christian University and many other organizations,” said Elaine Agather, region head of the Private Bank for the Central U.S., in a statement.
Aughinbaugh succeeds David Nolet, who recently left the firm after 24 years.
Aughinbaugh moved to Fort Worth to play football at TCU. Suffice to say, he’ll be a little distracted tonight as his alma mater plays for the national championship against Georgia at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
Aughinbaugh was on the ground floor of the program's turnaround, playing for both Dennis Franchione and Gary Patterson between 1998-2002. As a guard on the offensive line, Aughinbaugh helped open holes for LaDainian Tomlinson, Pro Football Hall of Famer, who made TCU a national story.
“This is a big day for TCU, for Fort Worth and for JPMorgan Chase,” Agather said. “J.T. played for the TCU football team, and we know he’ll be cheering them on in tonight’s CFP National Championship game — go Horned Frogs!”
Aughinbaugh was born in Houston and raised in Dallas, but he never left Fort Worth. He has spent nearly his entire career with JP Morgan in the Fort Worth office and is a 17-year veteran of the financial industry.
During his tenure with the firm, he has been a top-performing banker who has built strong relationships with prospects, clients, and colleagues. Outside of work, Aughinbaugh has been active with Colonial Charities, James L. West Center for Dementia Care, Presbyterian Night Shelter, and the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo.
“As a native Texan, I’m ecstatic to take on the leadership of the Private Bank in Fort Worth, leveraging the global power of JP Morgan’s platform and local expertise to help our clients achieve their long-term goals and objectives,” Aughinbaugh said. “I look forward to continuing to motivate the team and partnering with Kyle as we see opportunities in Fort Worth to build wealth and invest in the overall growth and well-being of our community.”
