Visit Fort Worth is taking the city's musical attractions on the road this week, showcasing local musicians and products and "supporting the city's rising reputation" Thursday and Friday at the AMERICANAFEST Music Festival & Conference in Nashville.
Hear Fort Worth and Visit Fort Worth will host a one-day event at Tennessee Brew Works Thursday featuring several Fort Worth musicians, TX Whiskey, Printed Threads and Smith Music Co.
Featured Fort Worth musicians at the Hear Fort Worth event include Jack Barksdale, Guthrie Kennard, Jacob Furr, Summer Dean, Vincent Neil Emerson, Squeezebox Bandits, and Grady Spencer & the Work. Friday, Visit Fort Worth will be a featured sponsor at Willie Nelson’s Luck Mansion "presenting a secret Fort Worth artist."
“Music is a vital part of our local visitor economy,” Mitch Whitten, chief operating officer of Visit Fort Worth, said in a release. “Exporting music and local brands boosts our reputation as a fun city to visit with lots of creative talent and energy.”
Tom Martens, associate vice president of creative and branding and director of the Hear Fort Worth Music Office, will be featured on a panel titled "What's the Buzz with Music Cities?" alongside representatives from the Recording Academy, Sound Diplomacy and Greater New Orleans Inc.
AMERICANAFEST is a four-day music festival and conference advocating for the voice of American Roots Music around the world.
In 2017, Fort Worth was designated the first music-friendly city in Texas by the Gov. Greg Abbott's Texas Music Office “Music-Friendly Communities” certification program.
