Alvin Brown with the Champions of Diversity Award.
Gideon Toal Management Services was among several companies to receive the Champions of Diversity Award at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport’s recent Success through Opportunities Access and Resources Conference at the Irving Convention Center.
Companies selected are judged to have an understanding that to succeed in today’s competitive market, diversity must be reflected in every aspect of their business operations and relationships.
“I would like to thank DFW Concessions and the Business Development Department for selecting Gideon Toal Management Services for the 2023 Champions of Diversity Award,” said GTMS President Alvin Brown in a statement. “Diversity has a significant impact on organizational culture because it increases retention and reduces turnover. We nurture, respect and value the individual contributions of our highly diverse workforce. “
The Champions of Diversity Awards Luncheon celebrates companies in the industry areas of goods, services, design/construction and concessions. GTMS received the award in the Concessions category.
Based in Fort Worth, GTMS expanded its national reach late last year by winning management contracts in two new locations, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Columbus, Ohio. GTMS operates airport lounges for 11 locations in eight domestic U.S. airports, including DFW airport, Orlando International, Las Vegas International.
Since 2014, the company has earned eight prestigious aviation awards for exceptional customer service since 2014, according to a spokesman.
GTMS’s newest venture in the concessions space is The Bridge Travel Essentials, which will offer travel essentials such as fresh grab and go food items, electronics, health and beauty products, beverages and other travel items.
The store is slated to open in the fall in Terminal A at DFW.
