McDonald Sanders
John Wright
John Wright has been elected as the new president at McDonald Sanders Law Firm, officials with the firm announced in a press release on Thursday.
Wright, who has been with the firm since 1988, focuses his practice in business organizations and commercial transactions, real estate, probate, estate and trust, and related litigation.
“John Wright's election as president of McDonald Sanders is a natural progression,” said Rick Sorenson, the firm’s first president, elected during a reorganization in 1990, who stayed in that role until December. “John is not only an outstanding lawyer in his own right but a proven leader who has been at the core of our firm's management for many years.
“He knows well that the strength of our law firm is a shared commitment to our clients backed by our dedication to delivering excellent professional services and results. I am excited about his taking the helm and furthering our mission and growth while continuing our tradition of advocacy with integrity. John is the right person to preside over the next generation of the firm's leadership.”
McDonald Sanders, as it is known today, was founded in 1951, by Atwood McDonald, Earnest Sanders, Marcus Ginsburg, Olcott Phillips and Robert Maddox. In 1990, the firm reorganized as a professional corporation.
“To serve our firm in this role is such a privilege and an honor, and especially to follow Rick after so many years of tireless and selfless leadership," said Wright, originally from Oklahoma City.
Wright received a bachelor's in business administration from University of Oklahoma in 1984 and his law degree from OU in 1987. He was admitted to the Oklahoma bar in 1987 and the State Bar of Texas in 1989.
The firm’s 13 shareholders and directors are Sorenson, Kevin Kuenzli, Robert Ginsburg, Rory Divin, George Haratsis, Wright, Nick Bettinger, Richard DeBerry, Jennifer Littman, Russell Devenport, Donald Kaczkowski, Ryan Damiano, and Grant Sorenson.
“John has been my friend and colleague for over 30 years, and I know he is invaluable to our organization,” said Bettinger, a past president and director of the Tarrant County Bar Association.
Wright served for five years as the chairman of the Board of Trustees of The Hill School of Fort Worth, and served many years on the Board of Directors of A Wish With Wings.
