TCU Athletics
Forward progress? What forward progress?
Just say no to frog legs and yes to chicken wings.
Pluckers Wing Bar said this week that it was beginning a three-year partnership with TCU men’s athletics, beginning with the 2023-24 school season.
Financial details were not disclosed but will cover football, men’s basketball, and baseball, a spokeswoman said.
“We’re thrilled to be an official sponsor of TCU athletics,” said Kristin McMinn, director of marketing of Pluckers, in a statement. “As a renowned restaurant and sports bar, Pluckers has mass appeal with sports fans, and our partnership with TCU is a natural fit as we serve up our award-winning wings and sauces to Horned Frogs fans."
Pluckers is a sports bar chain founded in Austin. It has more than 30 locations across Texas and Baton Rouge.
The sponsorship package is built around its five free wing coupons. When the football team wins and when the baseball and basketball teams hit certain metrics, everyone in attendance will get a coupon for five free wings.
The campaign, which starts Saturday in TCU’s season opener against Colorado on Saturday at Amon G. Carter Stadium, will be supported by public address announcements and video board signage throughout the games. Pluckers product will not be available at the games, a company spokeswoman said.
