Jaren Dahl, left, and Tyler McCracken
Quorum Architects on Friday announced the addition of two to its staff in Fort Worth.
Jaren Dahl will round out the team that services the firm’s Army & Air Force Exchange Service client. The Exchange is the country’s largest military governmental retailer. Quorum has worked with the client for more than 25 years delivering retail and restaurant projects across in the U.S., Korea, Japan, and Puerto Rico.
Tyler McCracken will work with Quorum’s Texas-based municipal clients as well as the firm’s national retail clients. His introductory project experience includes design of a new administration and operations building for a municipal water department and a finish out for a retail store in South Carolina.
“We knew Jaren would make a great addition to the team,” says Principal David Lee in a statement. “He has the right attitude and work ethic to be a good fit.
Says Principal David Duman of McCracken: “Tyler fit in immediately — not just on the design team, but also by participating in our community involvement and volunteer efforts.”
Dahl, a Stephenville native, earned his Master of Architecture from Texas Tech University in Lubbock after completing his four-year undergraduate degree in architecture there.
Dahl’s first project involvement for The Exchange was the remodel of a fast-food restaurant on a military base in Washington state.
“My grandfather was an Air Force pilot,” says Dahl. “I know he’d be pleased that the work I’m doing gives back to the military community.”
Senior architect Gayland Leddy is providing mentorship to Dahl in his path toward licensure.
“Jaren is a very promising talent,” says Leddy. “I’m happy to have him on the team and look forward to exposing him to the variety of projects that this client offers.”
McCracken is also a graduate of Texas Tech, having earned his Master of Architecture with a Certificate in Urban Design earlier this year. He previously received his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the university in 2020.
“Tyler has assisted the team by creating some beautifully rendered drawings that help the client better envision our design intent,” says William Moore, senior architect. “He’s shown the ability to adapt to multiple project types.”
McCracken has several years of construction-related experience applicable to the design process.
“I’m excited to be involved in the complete lifespan of projects — from investigation and concept to design and construction — an opportunity not always available at larger firms,” McCracken says.
