Quorum Architects on Thursday announced that Gabriel Winter had joined the firm as a project manager on the Municipal Design Team.
Currently, Winter is working with the firm’s animal care team.
Winter brings years of design expertise and creativity to the position, according to a press release, having worked at larger firms on multiple civic, higher education, healthcare and public art projects.
“I wanted a family atmosphere that a smaller firm can offer, where the teams are less siloed,” Winter said in a statement. “Quorum has the flexibility and the culture that I was looking for.”
Since joining Quorum, Winter has focused on refining the design of a new animal adoption center project for the city of Mansfield. He will also work with Quorum’s entertainment and retail design teams.
“Gabe is incredibly creative and talented,” said Kim Dowdy-Hickman, principal. “His unique approach to design yields simple yet sophisticated solutions that our clients can embrace.”
Winter was on a pre-med track in college, planning to follow in the footsteps of his father, who was an Air Force veteran psychiatric nurse. However, an architectural history class changed the course of his life, leading him to Texas Tech University's College of Architecture.
“No matter the scale or type, I’ve enjoyed and learned from every design project — each one offers new opportunities and puzzles to solve,” Winter said.
