Fort Worth’s net sales tax collections in October 2022 totaled close to $16.2 million, up 14.4% from the previous October.
Sales tax revenue represents about 23% of the city’s general fund budget. This is the second-largest revenue source, with property taxes being the largest at 58%.
For the Crime Control and Prevention District, sales tax revenue represents the largest revenue source.
For comparison, the state experienced a net collection increase of 11.2% compared to the same month the previous year.
The city’s general fund and Crime Control and Prevention District Fund net sales tax collections year-to-date are 108% to budget.
The city anticipates collecting $212,147,461 by fiscal year end, an increase of 16% over the fiscal year 2022 adopted budget.
