Two Save A Lot stores in Fort Worth are among the one third of the St. Louis retailer’s locations to be fully remodeled this year, with renovations to the entire chain expected to be complete by 2024.
The remodelings of the Save A Lot stores at 4621 E. Lancaster Ave. in Meadowbrook and 3101 E. Seminary Drive off of South Riverside Drive in Fort Worth are complete, the company said.
“Customers entering the store will notice a lighter, brighter and easier-to-shop footprint that includes new décor, updated dairy and meat cases and new interior and exterior paint,” Save A Lot said. “Both remodeled Fort Worth stores fully reflect Save A Lot’s new brand image, providing a fresh look and enhanced functionality, while continuing to serve as Fort Worth’s hometown grocer with quality and value consumers have come to expect.”
Save A Lot is re-introducing customers to the stores Sept. 1-7, with in-store promotions on freshly-cut meats and several private label brands.
“We’re thrilled to be able to bring much-needed upgrades to the two Fort Worth Save A Lot stores and enhance local residents’ shopping experiences the moment they step foot into the store,” Bill Kiker, the store owner and operator, said in a release.
Founded in 1977, Save A Lot is one of the largest discount grocery store chains in the United States, with about 1,000 stores in 32 states.

The company said this summer it’s working with its independent license owners to remodel a third of the stores in 2021, with all 1,000 stores remodeled by 2024.
“The new store design features a contemporary evolution of the brand inspired by customer and employee feedback,” the company said then. “Customers will find a lighter, brighter and easier-to-shop footprint that includes new décor and an enhanced shopping environment. Each neighborhood store will feature a strong assortment of regional products to better serve customers in meaningful ways, including a variety of localized product brands curated to resonate with customers in the local community.”
“As we continue to focus on becoming the brand of choice for our customers and a go-to source in our local communities, it was important that our logo, stores and marketing reflected and reinforced our mission of providing quality products at budget-friendly costs that consistently exceed the expectations of our customers,” Kenneth McGrath, CEO of Save A Lot, said then.
