Charles Schwab's CEO, Walter Bettinger, will be keynote speaker at the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce's 138th annual meeting, 11 a.m. April 7 at the Omni Fort Worth Hotel.
Schwab is moving its corporate headquarters to Hillwood's Circle T Ranch development from San Francisco. As keynote speaker, "Bettinger will engage in a conversation with Mike Berry, president of Hillwood," the Chamber said. "The two will discuss future plans for the Charles Schwab Corporation at their new headquarters in Westlake."
Brandom Gengelbach, president of the Chamber, said Bettinger's appearance boosts the joint effort by the Chamber and City of Fort Worth to attract corporate relocations to North Texas, Tarrant County, and Fort Worth.
"Walter's appearance complements those efforts," Gengelbach said in a release. "He will provide some insight as to what companies are looking for when relocating to the Fort Worth region."
The Annual Meeting, presented by Frost, is one of the Chamber’s largest events, attracting more than 800 attendees.
Bettinger, 59, has been president of Schwab since February 2007 and CEO since October 2008. Schwab is the largest publicly traded U.S. investment services firm and one of the world’s largest financial services firms. Post-financial crisis, from 2009 through 2012, Schwab grew client assets by $530 billion.
