Fort Worth-based Foodie Philanthropy on Tuesday selected a Wish with Wings as its beneficiary for its 2023 annual fundraiser, officials with A Wish with Wings said.
“A Wish with Wings is beyond excited to be selected as the 2023 Foodie Philanthropy Charity of Choice,” says Judy Youngs, president and CEO of Wish with Wings, in a statement. “We’re looking forward to working together to make a difference in the lives of deserving local children who are facing uncertain futures.”
A Wish with Wings was founded as a 501©(3) organization to lead in granting wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions. Since 1982, A Wish with Wings has granted more than 1,700 wishes, according to the nonprofit.
“We are excited to partner with A Wish with Wings as our 2023 Charity of Choice to help raise awareness and much-needed funds that will allow them to continue the important work they are doing to help families have precious time together where they can focus on fun and family instead of medical treatments and illness,” says Joanna Crain, co-founder of Foodie Philanthropy.
Foodie Philanthropy is a nonprofit organization with a mission of bringing together like-minded foodies for philanthropic causes, supporting organizations that assist those less fortunate by hosting an annual dinner at various restaurants. To date, Foodie Philanthropy has supported Girls Inc. of Tarrant County, The Women’s Center of Tarrant County, The Greatest Gift Catalog Ever, which benefitted more than 20 local organizations with matching funds, the Hope Center for Autism, the Jordan Elizabeth Harris Foundation, the Taste Project, and, most recently, Methodist Justice Ministry.
Since its founding, Foodie Philanthropy has raised more than $345,000 in the Greater Fort Worth area to assist nonprofits to achieve their missions, including $50,000 for Taste Project in 2021.
