Some of us have Taylor Swift, some of us have Allsup's.
The convenience store founded in Roswell, New Mexico, and its righteous fried burrito continue to tease us.
The brand is erecting a second home in Granbury at 5260 E. Highway 377, according to documents filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. A store at 6801 Glen Rose Highway is already pleasing customers.
The store will be a pre-engineered metal building of 5,630 square feet. Its cost is estimated to be $2.25 million. TK Architects of Kansas City is the designer of record.
The Allsup’s brand is owned by Fort Worth-based Yesway. Its stores dot the map — north, south, and west, but not a one in Fort Worth.
The original concept was established by Lonnie and Barbara Allsup in Roswell, New Mexico, in 1956, as Lonnie's Drive-In Grocery. It became a staple of convenience across all of West Texas.
