Freese and Nichols said Tuesday it will move its headquarters and 300 jobs to downtown's Burnett Plaza from southwest Fort Worth in 2020.
“Downtown Fort Worth is a thriving place whose culture matches our own,” Brian Coltharp, Freese and Nichols president and CEO, said in a release. “Working downtown — within walking distance or a few train stops away from some of our largest clients — will enable us to continue our dedication to outstanding client service.”
The new headquarters will occupy at least three full floors at the 40-story Burnett Plaza, Freese and Nichols said. The building is certified LEED Silver by the U.S. Green Building Council and has earned the Energy Star rating. Burnett Plaza is owned and managed by Dallas-based TIER REIT, , and represented by Jack Clark of Red Oak Realty.
“Our focus on sustainability for both our clients and ourselves made Burnett Plaza an attractive option for us,” Coltharp said. “We are here to make a positive impact on the communities where we live and serve, and this is an ideal place for us to do that.”
Freese and Nichols serves local, state and federal clients in the water, transportation, aviation, buildings and oil and gas industries, planning, designing, and managing major water and infrastructure projects.
“Downtown is Fort Worth's premier corporate address, and Freese and Nichols' relocation adds to the wealth of talent that makes downtown such a dynamic location,” said Andy Taft, President of Downtown Fort Worth, Inc.
Freese and Nichols, one of Fort Worth's oldest companies, has been based in Fort Worth since founded by Major John B. Hawley in 1894.
